And when We said to the Angels: "Prostrate to Adam," and they all prostrated except Iblees. He was of the Jinn (Sprite). Then he rebelled from the Command of his Lord. Then will you take him and his descendants as protectors besides Me while he is an enemy for you? What a wretched is the exchange of wrongdoers.
Jinns were the representatives of Lord on earth before the creation of Mankind as explained in verse 15: 27. When Lord commanded Angels and Iblees to prostrate before Adam, all except Iblees prostrated. He arrogantly refused His Lord’s Command as explained in verses 15: 28-44.
This is the only verse that denotes that Satan is from Sprite. Satan is among the disbelievers as explained in verse 2: 34. Satan obstructs mankind not from the Arabic Quran but Adhikr as told in verse 25: 29. Lord has appointed Satan as patron for those who are not believers as explained in verse 7: 27. Satan is given the power to fulfill the wishes of the disbeliever as told in verse 19: 83. So one should change his Jinn soulmate into a believer with Adhikr for becoming a believer and to return into the Paradise as explained in verses 6: 112 and 8: 48.
